I found this novel by LR Saul to be totally different in story and characters thankfully, to her Bloodline series. Very different but equally compelling reading. Can't wait for the sequel.I liked it as it was easy reading but intriguing as well.
I would highly recommend this novel by L R Saul as well

I bought this book as I enjoyed the "Bloodline" series by the same author - added bonus that I could get instant gratification via instead of having to wait for shipping!
I think I enjoyed this even more than the "Bloodline" books. There is murder, magic, intrigue, pathos, (fictional) history and a splash of romance. The writing is eloquent and descriptive so I could really get a vivid picture in my mind of the characters and their environments - it would make a great movie.
At only $3.99 on the kindle this book is a total bargain. If you haven't read any LR Saul books and are interested in the fantasy genre, give it a go! But be warned that you might find it hard to put down.
I am a seasoned reader of fantasy and was pleasantly surprised with this first instalment and thoroughly enjoyed the lead heroine. I will keep my eyes out for other books by this author.
